Dennis Company in Our Communities

Because Dennis Company is locally owned and operated, the owners and staff live and work in the communities they serve.

Dennis Company thrives on being actively involved in community events, charities, and civic groups on the twin harbors, and donates to many deserving non-profit groups and charitable events.

Dennis Company's focus is on those activities that benefit groups rather than individuals, with a focus on the youth of our area.

As part of the focus on area youth, Dennis Company offers seven college scholarships to deserving students at the local twin harbor high schools, as well as sponsoring numerous sports teams and serving on boards of directors. In addition, Dennis Company gives, through donation requests (see below), about $25,000 each year.

Not only does Dennis Company make financial donations, but owners and employees also eagerly donate time to assist with local area projects.

Important notes
about the types of projects we fund:

We are interested in funding projects that promote civic responsibility and benefit the community at large. We are particularly interested in helping the youth of our communities become good and strong citizens. As a result, requests that support these ideals are more likely to be funded.

We primarily fund groups and not individuals. For example, we would likely donate to a group of kids making a difference in their community but would not fund a student's application to cheerleading camp.

We do fund individuals when the benefit of doing so is to a larger group of the community. For example, we likely would help an Eagle Scout's project because they're doing something to better the towns in which we work and live.

We are more likely to provide opportunities for kids to "earn" the money for their donation request rather than give the money without strings attached. Children don't learn to be good and strong citizens unless they are involved in the process in a meaningful way.

So that our benefit to the community will continue, requests without civic benefit will likely be declined.

While any group or individual can make numerous requests, each recipient may only receive one request per 12 months.

How to make a request:

Read the important notes, above, for information about the type of projects we are interested in funding.
Fill out the request form, carefully filling out all blanks. Incomplete forms may not be funded.
Return the form to the store of your choice, or to our Corporate Office.
Requests must be received a minimum of two weeks prior to your need.

HUGS–Help Us Grow Stronger Our goal for the upcoming year is to expand support to not only include capital projects, but to develop programs and/or activities to serve children and families. HUGS is working hard with other agencies in the community to identify the needs of our area with hope to be able to offer exciting new programs for kids in the very near future.

Union Gospel Mission of Grays Harbor The Union Gospel Mission of Grays Harbor was founded in 1938 by a group of churches in our area. Their intent was to shelter and feed the less fortunate and also share a better way of life.

Grays Harbor United Way United Way of Grays Harbor is helping meet the most critical needs in our County; from "at risk" youth to seniors, from domestic violence to hunger and from hospice care to daycare.

Rebuilding Grays Harbor and Rebuilding Pacific County If the roof begins to leak, the furnace quits, or broken locks on doors and windows leave elderly residents vulnerable to crime, a quick turn-around is essential. Many of America's 24 million low-income homeowners don't have the money or ability to repair damage that could spiral into ever more costly and hazardous dilapidation.

Boys and Girls Club of Pacific County In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. They are truly The Positive Place For Kids.

Food banks throughout the Pacific and Grays Harbor area

Harbor Association of Volunteers for Animals HAVA is an all-volunteer group serving the animals of the Twin Harbors region of Washington state. The area we cover stretches roughly from Westport in the north to Bay Center in the south. It encompasses portions of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties.

PAWS The Progressive Animal Welfare Society advocates for animals through education, legislation and direct care.

South Pacific County Humane Society This no-kill shelter serves the Long Beach Peninsula area, adopting out more than 650 animals annually.

Willapa Harbor Chamber of Commerce The Willapa Harbor Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Information Center promotes north Pacific County, Washington, including Raymond, South Bend, Tokeland, North Cove, and Bay Center. Once you have visited you will agree that Pacific County is nature's best effort!

Grays Harbor Chamber of Commerce Grays Harbor Chamber of Commerce has been working to improve the Grays Harbor economy and quality of life since 1892. A not-for-profit business advocacy organization, the Chamber is not a municipal, county, state or federal agency. The primary funding for the Chamber's programs is through the voluntary annual investments made by our more than 700 member firms.

Montesano Chamber of Commerce The City of Montesano is the county seat of Grays Harbor County, Washington, with a population of 3,700. Montesano is located approximately 10 miles east of Aberdeen and 40 miles west of Olympia, providing close proximity to hospitals, colleges, shopping, and recreation. Montesano is conveniently situated as the gateway to Washington's pristine coastal beaches and the scenic Olympic Peninsula.

Long Beach Merchants Association Welcome to the Long Beach Merchants website and blog. Our active merchant group meets at Castaways Restaurant, downtown Long Beach, Washington, on the first Friday of each month, starting at 8:00 am. Join us and learn more about our activities.

Grays Harbor Economic Development Council The Grays Harbor Economic Development Council is a private nonprofit 501(c6) corporation dedicated to the creation and retention of family wage jobs in Grays Harbor County.

Pacific County Economic Development Council The Pacific County Economic Development Council is a private non-profit organization that works in part with Washington State Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development, three ports, PUD No. 2, Pacific Transit System and private business.

NW Carriage Museum Explore the world of the 19th century traveler at the Northwest Carriage Museum. The museum is home to 23 beautifully restored horse drawn vehicles.

Willapa Harbor Seaport Museum STOWED in the museum’s 5000 square foot hold are some 100 SALTY exhibits, some unique to the area, and some simply UNIQUE!

Raymond Theatre The Raymond Theatre is a historic venue for movies and live performances. The elegant building has been completely restored and improved.

Grays Harbor College Located on a picturesque 120-acre site overlooking the town of Aberdeen, Washington and its seaport on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Grays Harbor College offers a beautiful setting and challenging programs for adult learners of all ages and interests.

Coats for Kids The Coats for Kids Foundation was established in January 2004 as a public, charitable foundation. The Coats for Kids Foundation mission is “to ensure that every child who needs a winter coat receives a new one.” Donations may be made locally through the Elks Foundation at PO Box 26, Raymond, WA 98577.

Pacific County Fair During the off-season the fairgrounds are used for storage of boats and RV's. Little League and farm teams also practice there in the Spring. In the Fall months, Willapa Valley Jr. High uses the field for football practice. 4-H clubs use the arena most of the summer for practice. Other 4-H groups hold practices at various times. The Scouts also have a day there for their activities.

Grays Harbor Fair The Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds is located in Elma, Washington. The grounds are 68 acres in size, and include 15 major buildings and barns, 1200 parking spaces, and two outdoor stages. The Fairgrounds can host events as large as the Annual County Fair and the National Sprint Car tour, or as small as a committee meeting.

Willapa Harbor Helping Hands The sea of pink that covers South Bend, Raymond, Menlo and Lebam in October is part of the Willapa Harbor Helping Hands’ “Paint the Towns Pink” celebration that is held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Relay for Life Grays Harbor A fun-filled overnight activity that mobilizes communities across the country to celebrate survivorship, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and raise money for the fight against cancer. This is an American Cancer Society signature activity.

Rotary Club of Aberdeen and Rotary Club of Southwest Pacific County Peninsula Rotary International is the world's first service club organization. Its more than 1.2 million members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self.

Raymond Elks With more than one million members in more than 2,100 local lodges nationwide, the Elks are one of the largest and most active fraternal organizations in the world!
